No Trains! Call Ahead of Time

Dakota and I jumped into the car on Sunday and headed out to the NY botanic gardens to see their fantastic train show. I figured the Christmas rush had passed, and the show ends on the 11th.

We got to the gardens around 2pm and was told that the show was sold out for the day! Darn. (We did grab tickets for this Friday.)

I did have my camera in hand, and sometimes a bit of an inconvience is a good thing. It turns out the the gardens is exhibiting Henry Moore's sculptures across their grounds. Time Magazine has named this as one of the top 10 Museum Exhibits of 2008. (So whate a great way to start 2009). The Exhibition has been extended through March 15th.

Here's the quote from the NYBG.org website:
Time has named Moore in America one of the Top 10 Museum Exhibits of 2008.Come see for yourself what wowed art critic Richard Lacayo and the tens of thousands who have seen Henry Moore’s magnificent sculpture in the unique setting of the Botanical Garden. This is the year’s must-see show, one that can be appreciated over and over.Moore in America: Monumental Sculpture at The New York Botanical Garden is the largest outdoor exhibition of Moore's sculpture ever presented in a single venue in the United States. The 19 colossal works displayed throughout the Garden provide for an impressive interaction of nature and art such as Moore envisioned.
